Horror Boobs will be at this event tonight! I cannot tell how you stoked I am to watch this documentary about the Godfather of Gore, directed by FRANK HENENLOTTER himself! For those of you in the NYC area, you should definitely try to make one of these screenings, especially Friday night, because Frank and Joe Bob Briggs are doing a Q&A panel, which I’m sure will be an enlightening discussion for those who love exploitation!

On March 10th, 11th, 12th and 13th ANTHOLOGY FILM ARCHIVES will be putting on the Exploitation film event of the decade! Frank Henenlotter (Basket Case, Brain Damage, Bad Biology director/writer) and Jimmy Maslon (Blood Diner, Blood Feast 2 producer) bring you “HERSCHELL GORDON LEWIS: THE GODFATHER OF GORE” the off-the-wall documentary that tells the unlikely - wait no UNFREAKINGBELIEVABLE - story of H.G. Lewis - a man who set out to make Nudist Camp exploitation pictures and ended up inventing the unforgiving genre we all know and love - GORE! Throughout the 50’s and 60’s Lewis and his crew of varied qualities traveled every road possible on the road-map of Exploitation, and HERSCHELL GORDON LEWIS: THE GODFATHER OF GORE tells that story - warts and all! This is a documentary unlike ANY you’ve seen before.

AND, as if the film itself wasn’t enough - On Friday, March 11th at 7pm, director FRANK HENENLOTTER and author JOE BOB BRIGGS will be taking questions from YOU the audience!

AND IT DOESN’T END THERE! To supplement this already unbelievable cinematic treat, Anthology Film Archives is offering up a sleaze-slathered platter of Exploitation Classicks directed by Lewis himself! For the Gorehounds there’s the one that started it all - BLOOD FEAST! For the Juvenile Delinquents out there, there’s SCUM OF THE EARTH - the first “Roughie”! And if you’re WEIRD like me, YOU CAN’T miss SOMETHING WEIRD - the most bizarre picture ever made! Check Anthology’s site for further descriptions and showtimes! DON’T MISS THIS!
